Always saw ‘swimming as an amazing ‘talent - but didn’t ’float haha .. no body fat - soon enuff at Univ of Guelph Veterinary College was employed re Equine ‘hydrotherapy - re prize Race Horse ‘Post Op’ therapy.. also knew they were working on Joe Namath’s chronic knees the same way ! Remove much of the Body Weight to work connective tissues & joints ! Flash forward & Dylan is in Pre-Natal swim class - she was a LifeGuard as would Dylan become.. I sank some more but a ‘chicken vest for slalom skiing finally got me buoyant if I kept up a flutter kick or tread water.. whew !

WoW you’re ’disciplined - diet wise ! Anne too & also in a mysterious seasonal way.. we’re now into awesome Swiss Chard we score ‘locally - but from Collins Bay Produce - which we know is Kingston Penitentiary Farms ! We both know our beef, chicken & turkey too ! We’ve had pan fried Port Dover white perch three times already this summer & Anne’s kinda taken over the Various fresh salmonid hunting - again a slight seasonal pattern re Wild - King, Sockeye, Steelhead .. we both know southwestern Ontario farm country & mennonite home cookin too - Fall Fair Time currently - so find me in the Pie & Butter Tart judging area ! 🦎🏴‍☠️

As a boy, I grew up on the Allegheny River near Oakmont, Pennsylvania. Our summer cottage was on a section of the river near the PA Turnpike which featured an island in the river. Both of my parents constantly told us to never try swimming to the island. The current of the river was one issue. The barges serving the steel mills presented another dynamic obstacle. Did I swim to the island?

FFS, don't tell my parents!

Friends in Arizona invited me to ski behind their boat. As we started, I casually booted one ski off. Such fun. Harv was the VP of the Midas International Dealers Assn. and he owned 19 stores in 3 states. We had such fun together. Sue and I hosted them for the Indy 500. My brakes were on every car. We had a suite on turn 2. I was sponsoring both Skip Barber Racing and The Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. Free brakes for school access. RIP Bob Bondurant. We hosted a few top execs from Midas including Harv and Deb. During the 4-day GP training the instructors evaluate al of the students. They set the grid with Deb a few cars behind Harv. As the race progressed, Harv got really hot and became tired. Deb, 15 years younger and a gymnast for Arizona State University, passed her husband during the race. Great fun. We all became safer drivers too. We launched our brand with Midas Canada. Midas USA bought our brakes for their newest premium line. Every May 5th I call Harv.

Good for you, Pam. I was doing laps in a pool in Barbados. A young boy came up to me as I was climbing out. He said, "You're fast." I smiled at his Mom, "I was fast 50 years ago." She laughed. The next few days the boy was there asking me for lessons. He got good on 3 of the 4 basic strokes. His parents were so happy we met.
