Thanks, Canada. We have friends in this photo who contributed significantly to our lives. I could fill a book with the adventures and achievements of the folks in this one Le Mans 24 Hour group photo. Race Car Engineering, the worlds top racing publication, was founded and became a global powerhouse. Three of the folks in this shot did that. The taller man smoking his pipe was a top BMW chassis engineering manager in Garching, Germany. I recruited him when we opened our Munchen office.

Speaking of hospitality, we served 125 guests for the 4-day IndyCar GP at Detroit. We had a lovely tent inside the racetrack with excellent food and drink. We had top clients from UK, Germany, Italy, and USA. A power dinner for the top 50 was conducted at the Rattle Snake Club, including Garrett van Camp and his wife. He was the Ford head of brake engineering who gave us the F-150 business, the highest production vehicle on earth. We exchange Christmas cards still. We strive to respect and retain the friendship of our clients going forward in life.

One of our friends lived in Port Huron. He crewed on a California 40’ sailboat from Sarnia, Canada..What a lovely old wooden boat. The owner sadly died of brain cancer and bequeathed the boat to my friend Jim. They had so many ribbons from their racing prowess. My question is why are there so many huge flies out on that lake?

Good Question Rob - but first will say amazing being aboard ship - anytime ! Losing a compadre Truly HURTS - we grin & bear it cuz it’s ‘the way they probably showed us - once upon the time .. and i has a Fred Neil song for those needing it.. yes i do ! ‘I’ve Got A Secret’

.. a forty foot wooden boat is ‘big one.. carry lotta sail as a ‘waterman i crewed for might say - he had a lovely 28 footer.. Anne n i helped her - ‘wake up’ come spring at Frenchman’s Bay adjacent to the ‘Big Nuke’ - Pickering Nuclear Power Plant - east of Toronto

But to yer question re ‘The Flies ? Oh that’s a dirtbag nasty problem - Lake Huron & Lake Michigan too ! Lake Erie .. hmm - To say it can ruin a casual daysail is understatement.. further offshore & prevailing winds from the NorthWest ? Biting Flies cannot keep up.. but just offshore or ‘still waters ?

Worse - we hear of Ticks infestations ! 🦎🏴‍☠️
