Taking Matt back to Jamee & North Carolina
Cross country road trip - July 12 Update
Matt, on the left, met his brother Scott at PDX (Portland, Oregon) after Scott flew 14 hours from Melbourne to SFO, then a second flight to Portland. They planned a road trip from Portland to North Carolina to move Matt into the home of his high school sweetheart, Jamee Webb. They have several stops along the route, including Collierville, Tennessee, to party with us.
Matt & Jamee enjoyed two recent times together in NC. Sadly, including the unexpected funeral of Jamee’s Mom. We are so thrilled to have Jamee returning to our family.
North Carolina to Oregon: 25 Years Ago
Matt moved from NC 25 years ago. His daughter, Zoey, was born in North Carolina. Now she is a mom with 2 kids of her own. Zoey, Dillon, Noelle, and Miles live in Oregon. Scott and Matt will visit them today, then depart for Boise, Idaho, via Multnomah Falls tomorrow. Zoey, Noelle (2), newborn Miles, and Dillon are hosted Scott and Matt in Oregon.
As their road trip evolves, I plan to update the saga.
DENVER UPDATE June 25, 2025
Matt captures a moment of pure joy as Shannon and Scott are reunited in Denver after not seeing each other since their North Carolina days, 25 years ago. This photo captures such joy and emotion. Well done, Matt. Scott refers to Shannon as “a firecracker.”
The NELSON brothers arrived in Tennessee late Thursday evening for a 3-night party here.
We had a blast with our two sons in Collierville, TN. Scott ordered the Bruschetta starter. We shared a few thousand laughs as we relaxed in the care of David Grisanti and his team. David is 3rd Italian chef who knows how to manage an impressive operation. The first meal was so good that we dined here twice in one week.

Scott and I both ordered the wild-caught blackened salmon served on a bed of risotto. Matt ordered the same entree twice, handmade 3-cheese ravioli.

After dinner, we strolled around the historic district of Collerville and enjoyed the live band. Scott described it as a “quintessential southern town.” Keep in mind, we lived in Nashville when our boys were young.

Now, Matt and Jamee are married, and Scott is home in Melbourne.
The trilogy of Matt, Jamee, and Scott has survived 25 years so far. Scott was Matt’s best man again. We wish the newlyweds the very best. Matt returned to North Carolina safely, thanks in part to his amazing brother Scott.
