Dancing
Vertical passion
We love dancing. At Penn State, we tried to learn to dance on iceskates. Hilarious experience with lots of falls on unforgiviing ice. I invited Sue to our high school prom. We had a ball. Our exchange student, Rolf, from Switzerland, was one of our gang. In this photo, Sue and I are dancing in the Spring Formal at Lambda Chi Alpha, Penn State. I served as secretary, then president of the chapter.
We took many dance lessons, including the North Carolina Beach Music dance called SHAG. An eight-step dance that is fun and requires stamina. For our 40th anniversary, Sue asked if we could learn the TANGO. We had a ball learning more and more steps of tango. What a fabulous addition to our dance floor fun.
Encourage your kids to dance. It is so rewarding and fabulous cardio.

Great Photo Rob & Sue ! Square Dancing Class was Compulsory as a kid in our Catholic Schools - I found the Top Square Dancing ‘Callers & same re Auction Sale ‘Callers were fascinating ! Have tried ‘Writing short attempts - just to ‘find a cadence for an ‘invented ‘call & the ‘spelling’ just to communicate it is TOUGH ! It’s a Musical Art Form ! Try spelling DOUGH SEE DOUGH .. Do Re Me suggests one way to communicate ‘dough as ‘am short of dough (money..) As for the Dance Steps ?
Holy Moly .. Rob ! Try ‘Al a Man right & join to th middle ! Bow to yer partner n off she goes.. hey .. haha
‘Dance like Everybody’s Watching (they probably are !) 🦎🏴☠️🧨
Love this perspective on dance as cardio and connection. Carolina Shag is deceivingly tough - that eight-count footwork looks smooth on the surface but maintaining the energy throughout a whole song is genuinly exhausting. Tried learning it at a beach weekend a coupleof years ago and quickly realized why stamina matters so much. The tango addition for an anniversary is such a thoughtful touch.
