Like my old Scout motto, Be Prepared. It can be easy to boost the feelings of friends, family, or total strangers if you are prepared to dedicate a few minutes to lifting others. I like to say: More Kindness.
From time to time on LinkedIn, I create a post to acknowledge those who have helped make an impact on my life. As a courtesy, I usually let them proofread it before publishing. One recent case was Ron Weinberg who recruited me to be president of one of his companies. Ron is the most humble Harvard MBA I ever met. He is also the most generous man I know. He donated $30,000,000 to the Cleveland Clinic. Ron dispatched the private jet for me and my wife. As we were flying home in the same private jet, Sue asked if she needed to keep teaching. I said, “Do whatever you want.” She focused on her health, garden club, family, and friends.
I remember the note one of my high school friends wrote in my yearbook. “Rob is so kind.” I never forgot that compliment.
To this day, I strive to be kind and to improve the day of friends, clients, and strangers.
My Mom was our Den Mother for Cub Scouts. What a great Mom. I was blessed with 2 wonderful parents. What a great family experience. Have a great day, friends. Be prepared to be kind.
